What's a logbook? A logbook is a notebook where you record the day-to-day progress on your project. You can think of it as a journal. It can be made out of a few blank sheets of paper stapled together with a cover, as we have made in class, or it can be a purchased spiral notebook or composition book. The important thing is that you record what you do on your project frequently. Since it is a journal, there will be places where you can draw what your experiment looks like, glue in pictures you took, or articles from a magazine or internet that pertain to your project. In your logbook you also write your results, explain any problems you ran into and write down any questions you may have. It should be handwritten. It helps if you date each entry (write the date each time you write in your logbook). The judges will look at your logbook carefully. This will help them determine how thoroughly you worked on your project. Other tips for your logbook:
